Hiking on Mount Olympus, the mountain of the Gods.Μt Olympus (Q16) is known worldwide as the “Mountain of the Gods”, as the 12 Gods of the ancient Greek mythology, made it their home. Although ancient Greeks used to climb up to Profitis Ilias to sacrifice to the Gods, they didn’t get close to the highest peaks. After some unsuccessful attempts to the summit in the 19th century, it was in August 2 1913 that Swiss climbers Fred Boissonas and Daniel Baud Bovy with the local guide Christos Kakkalos made it to the summit, Mytikas (2918 m).
