Giola is a unique natural pool, with turqoise waters near the village of Astris, accessible from a short path. It was formed by the work of the waves on the white rocks that encircle it. Further to the east at Alyki was the largest seaside marble quarry in the antiquity from where large marble blocks were cut and loaded directly to boats. The remaining carved rocks of the marble half sunk cape form a bizarre scenery. In Alyki one can also come across the ruins of an Early Christian Basilica, and through the ancient paved path you reach the ancient temple of the eastern beach.
