The "Culture Trails" project of the Elliniki Etairia – Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage, is implemented in Spetses in collaboration with the Municipality of Spetses and the Anargyreio and Korgialeneio School of Spetses. The island of Spetses, despite its small size, presents a remarkable hiking interest, within a typical Mediterranean ecosystem.
The project forms a network of 19 routes, with a total length of 65 kilometers. Their starting points are either in the settlement of Spetses or in the surrounding asphalt of the island. Most of them meet the ridge, with the Hara estate, the Hunters' Meeting, the Prophet Elias and the Rigani peak as focal points. The routes take advantage of the relief of the island, and can be combined to form longer circular routes or crossings, approaching the most important points of interest in Spetses.
At the moment (July 2022) the routes are not yet marked, but they are passable and walkable, based on the descriptions below and scanning the QR code to download the app. Enjoy the Culture Trails in Spetses, having enough water, a hat, snacks and good company with you!
