Two new titles were released by Anavasi in May. These are the maps of Oiti (1:35,000) and Samos (1:45,000). The map of Samos is the first map of the edition for the island, while Oiti was part of the hiking map Giona – Oiti – Vardousia on a scale of 1:50,000.
The hiking map of Samos depicts the island of Hera and Pythagoras at a scale of 1:45,000. Samos is known for its UNESCO World Heritage sites, vast vineyards as well as its impressive nature. The two imposing mountain masses, the gorges, the ravines, the isolated beaches but also the traditional mountain settlements with stone pavements offer an inexhaustible field for hiking.
This new map of Samos from Anavasi, was created with the collaboration of postgraduate Geography students of the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, in France.
In addition to the network of marked routes, it describes the 8 most interesting ones with rich photographic material, constituting a small hiking guide for the island in 3 languages (Greek-English-French). The map accurately gathers the entire road network, settlements, toponyms, beaches, Byzantine churches and archaeological sites. Finally, within the map you will find an inset with the area of Pythagoras with the well-known Eupaline Trench.
Apart from Samos, another map that was released is the one for Oiti.
While from below, Oiti seems to be a difficult mountain, with inaccessible gorges, when we are in its heart we encounter a different landscape with meadows full of wild flowers. Due to its rich nature, it has been designated as a National Park.
Dozens of trails run through the slopes and plateaus of the mountain. On the map we have selected and suggest 20 hiking and 4 cycling routes.
The reverse side of the map is dedicated to the original leisure park at the springs of Asopos, near Pavliani and details the circular route with attractions and activities that enchant young and old alike.
In addition to the above, the titles for Cyclades – Argosaronic R2, Andros (co-edition), Menalon Trail (co-edition) and Parnitha were renewed, while the maps for Hymettos, Mainalos and Exo Mani were re-released
