This book is a popular photographic identification manual for the snakes of Greece. Its purpose is to enable the reader to identify the snakes he will encounter in our country, as well as to resolve misunderstandings and eliminate prejudices regarding snakes. This is the first identification guide exclusively for snakes in Greece and includes all 23 species found in our country. For each species, photographs are presented, identifying their diagnostic characteristics, a brief description and biological data, as well as detailed distribution maps. The names of the species are updated and the different common names of each species are included depending on the region. The introduction provides general information about snakes, as well as the relationship between snakes and humans. Finally, the protection status of the species has been included, as well as an identification key that will be useful, especially to students of relevant specialties.
