This is the comprehensive rock climbing guidebook for Leonidio, a small town on the east coast of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece. Leonidio is surrounded by beautiful limestone rock formations off all different colours and shades, making a perfect climbing destination in Greece, with routes across a wide range of grades. It also describes the sport climbing at Kyparissi that is situated to the south of Leonidio.
This Leonidio and Kyparissi guidebook describes over 2,100 bolted single pitch routes across a wide range of grades in 90 sectors and 6 main areas. Also included are 40 multi-pitch routes, with over 290 pitches. All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with route length. At the start of each sector, there are GPS co-ordinates, an approach map, and access information. Symbols then indicate the style of climbing, altitude, crag orientation, and approach time. A table lists the number of routes at each grade is also given.
Published in November 2021 (revised 3rd edition) this guidebook is in English text throughout and includes many action photographs. There is also information regarding the climate, wildlife, how to get there, accommodation, suggestions for rest days, access to crags and the history of climbing around Leonidio. Published by a local cooperative called Panjika, more than 30% of the profit from these guidebooks goes towards the bolting of routes in the Leonidio area.
