In the book, we describe 15 short and fairly light walks. Most walks can be walked in 1.5 to 2.5 hours (net walking time).
Almost every route description starts with a link to a short YouTube video, so the readers can see where they are going to walk. Furthermore, they can download a GPX file of each walk, but it is also possible to view and follow the route on Google Maps, both using QR-codes.
For each walk, there is a lot of information ‘on the spot’, i.e. described the moment you pass it. Each time the reader may choose how much she/he wants to know about where they are by scanning a link. Finally, each route has a ‘dessert’; a special clue to a separate resting, picnic or swimming spot.
Attached you will find a walk in its entirety, as well as the cover pages (image and text).
Review of the leading Hiking Magazine in the Netherlands (‘Wandelmagazine’)
’ The author of the book, Gerard Kleijne, is a volunteer at Andros Routes and he was getting more and more questions from people who would like to walk on Andros, but not too long and not too strenuous. For those people, he created a guidebook with 15 short circular walks to discover this green island at your leisure. The routes run through beautiful countryside without too much climbing and descending and offer pure hiking pleasure. The book features overview maps, GPX information and QR codes of videos explaining the sights along the way. A very complete and beautifully produced guidebook’.
